Counselling for LGBT

We stopped being the Marriage Guidance Council on St Valentine’s Day in 1988.  But we still find it hard to shake off the outdated  image of ‘twinsets and pearls’ which many perceived as ethnocentric or homophobic.

We would like to dispel the myth that we don’t work with the LGBT community or indeed anyone who does not want to ‘fix’ their relationships. So if you are:

  • Lesbian
  • Gay
  • Bisexual
  • Transgender
  • Transvestite
  • Questioning
  • Curious
  • Or other
  • Or just need to work out where you are in your relationship

- then we are here for you.

We work with everyone respectfully but we don’t profess to know everything about every individual’s lifestyle or life choices. All of our counsellors are trained to ask questions about what people mean when they tell us about themselves, their current difficulties and how they can picture things being improved.

This web page is here just to reinforce our commitment to all of the rich differences we bring to our relationships – and if your differences fall under the rainbow flag, we welcome you to use our services.
